To be eligible for work in this field, you must be of legal age, hold a Class B driver’s license, and complete and pass the three-month training course to become a paramedic.

In addition to your daily activities at your chosen placement site, the voluntary service also includes educational seminars that you will complete with us as your sponsoring organization. During these seminars, you'll get to know other volunteers, exchange experiences, explore interesting topics from various perspectives, and have a chance to let loose. The DRK Voluntary Services in Rhineland-Palatinate are supported by a team of over 25 educational and administrative professionals. Each group has individual points of contact, providing expert answers to organizational questions, as well as general contact persons for all types of inquiries. The German Red Cross (DRK) saves lives, assists in emergencies, provides community support, helps the poor and needy, and upholds international humanitarian law - in Germany and around the world. In Rhineland-Palatinate, the DRK is active in many different areas, from emergency medical services and search and rescue dog teams to migration counseling and clothing banks.
